On Aug. 24, 2015, Life Care Centers of America honored Sal Decaria, executive director at Life Care Center of Jacksonville, Florida, with one of two President’s Awards for its Southeast Division.
The President’s Award, given during Life Care’s annual management meeting at its headquarters in Cleveland, Tennessee, recognizes distinguished service in a long-term health care management role. The Southeast Division includes 21 skilled nursing and rehab facilities in Florida.
Decaria, who has been an executive director since 2006, was praised for leading his facility to positive resident outcomes. Life Care Center of Jacksonville was chosen as one of only three facilities to participate in a new Mayo Clinic initiative.
New industry leaders also benefit from Decaria’s expertise as he serves as a preceptor to administrators in training.
“Sal has demonstrated professional skill and compassion in dispatching his responsibilities to the associates, residents and families he serves,” said Beecher Hunter, Life Care president. “He has uniquely demonstrated a leadership style for others to emulate. This is a distinguished award to receive because it goes to the heart of our mission.”
Fifteen President’s Awards are presented annually to leaders of overall successful facilities or organizations within Life Care.
